That Side Of Town

I'm glad that you visit that side of town
Where sinners of all kinds reside and abound
I once was a tenant in that compound
On disobedience street house one hundred and one
Many of the folks here were my neighbors then
When sin’s darkest deeds was our pleasure and flair
But you came one day in a red Rolls Royce
Knocked on my door and gave me an offer of choice
Now I have a new address on holy close house one
I thank you Lord for visiting that side of town
I’m glad that you visit that side of town
I remember when you drove through life estate
Renowned for its never vacant lack parks
Where the needy sit with hands on their brow
Some of the folks here were in the park that day
Wondering how on earth the next meal will be made
But you stepped out loaded from your red Hummer ride
Supplied all our need and rescued us from debts hide
And it’s been a while since I strolled to that park
I thank you Lord that you visit that side of town
I’m glad that you visit that side of town
Dark Avenue with its grey stores and tattered malls
Where each night’s tune is tears on the pillow
Because all for sale was pain heartache and sorrow
But you came again in your red Ferrari
And took us on a shopping spree in the supplies of the Spirit
Now glad songs fill our night and day
I thank you Lord that you visit that side of town
No wonder the people call you Master
And all my neighbors call you Savior
On the streets you are known as Healer
Men hail you as Faithful Provider
Because at every turn what we need is who You are
I’m so grateful You are such a wonder
Mighty in moving, loving in doing
For this indeed is our testimony
You have reached out to the least of men
And made such the best of them
